Finale Avi and sound

KINDEST REGARDS

So the final AVI is complete. I intentionally used the music to better reflect the whole idea of "The Cock and the Pearl" fable. I was searching for the proper sound for some time and at the end I decided what to use. I used the Adobe Premiere Pro to make fade in effects and Tiles. I also connected it with the music trying to achieve the best timing that was possible.

The sky and final rendering

I used the sky photo as a background and some omni lights to make shadows. Most of the scenes use "Area Shadows" for better quality. In some scenes like the pearl scene I had to use "Shadow maps" To make it more realistic. "Area Shadows" just didn't fit everywhere. I textured the chicken using unwrap UVW modifier So it looks like the one in the picture.

Pearl shine effect

The second scene contains the shining pearl. I did it by placing the omni light near the pearl and adding the lens effect to it. However the light remains turned off until the right moment comes. When it is turning on the glow also becomes visible. I tried to make the pearl blink to the chicken that way.

Terrain, objects and lights

Chickens usually don't live it the desert so I made several trees and bushes to make it feel like forests and farmlands. I also used the material with noise for the ground.

Walking animation

I spent a lot of time doing the walk animation for the first scene. I needed to make it from scratch because chicken's legs bend the other way than human legs... Well that wasn't the best moment to realise that. But they work quite well now.

Bones for the chicken

I made a biped based bones for the chicken. I had some problems with it's eyes because they didn't want to move with it's head... I tried to solve the problem and finally I did it. I attached the Skin modifier to the eyes and attached them to the biped's head. That fixed them where they should be for good. In the pictures we can see X-rayed chicken with bones visible.

Be smooth

After trying many smooth options for my chicken i;ve finally decided that the MeshSmooth option is the best. After applying such option the chicken looks like the one in the picture.
